“What’s marketing doing?”

“What’s marketing doing?” is a question a founder, CEO, investor, or sales leader should never have to ask. To alleviate these concerns, we’ve developed a communications method that provides our clients with the right level of transparency into what’s happening at a given moment, while also providing a line of sight to the big rocks we’re tackling together.

After a discovery session to truly understand what a specific client needs, we craft a scope of work designed to address those, in order of importance and order of impact. We don’t offer a cookie cutter approach for our clients. We investigate as many marketing channels as possible, aligning client goals with the channels and initiatives that will be most successful.
Once that plan is reviewed and agreed upon, we provide a calendar showing exactly when each initiative will be completed (posted, shared, created, delivered, etc). All of this information is pushed to a marketing calendar for a bird’s eye view, as well as a tracker that identifies near term dependencies.

And, we keep a running dashboard to compare the expected activity/opportunity to the actual outcomes.

While every campaign we run and every initiative we support is custom to each individual client, there are certain tenants we believe in.

For instance:
Content begets content- We believe that it is critical to amplify content across channels. For instance, when we secure coverage in a publication for our client, we make a point of sharing it across that client’s channels to ensure it gets a maximum number of views. This can be achieved through organic or paid social media, and is often more effective with both.

Meet the Founder

From Reefer Trucks to Raising Capital

Mike got his start in logistics while… trying to be a DJ.
Working for a radio station that built a sampling campaign, he ended up as a quasi-trucker, driving a reefer box truck up and down the east coast while running an ice cream sampling campaign.
When he joined a PR firm after, leadership saw an opportunity to capitalize on Bush’s ability to “speak trucker,” building a logistics practice around his expertise (which was really the ability to vshare anecdotes about sleeping in the cab and cursing too much).
That was in 2004.
Mike Bush
Since then, he's worked with logistics, supply chain, transportation and freightech companies, helping them raise hundreds of millions of dollars in funding, secure freight from the world's best-known shippers, and grow tremendously.
He launched Nomad Communications with the idea of working with a small group of companies in the industry, none of whom are competitors to each other (it is a rule of the firm that we won't take on work from someone who can be viewed as a competitor to our current customers).
The goal is to push forward the digital transformation, AI, and sustainable transportation solution providers that are building tomorrow's global supply chain, turning the pioneering technology of today into the best practices of tomorrow.
Bush also hosts Hammer Down, a podcast focused on encouraging people to think about a career path in supply chain.
